Flying Dragon, known in Japan as Hiryū no Ken Twin (飛龍の拳ツイン Hiryū no Ken Tsuin, “Fist of the Flying Dragon Twin”), is a fighting game with role-playing video game elements that was developed by Culture Brain and released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Part of the Hiryū no Ken series, it was published in Japan by Culture Brain, and by Natsume in North America and Europe.

  1. Its pretty good. But the framerates is horrible at times. And neither game I think has enough maps, music or character. Still damn fun though.

  2. I played it as a kid and bought it recently. It's amazing. I unlocked every special moves, Ryumaou and Bokuchin but I just can't beat the third (or second) metal Ryumaou boss fight. The fact that when you lose the fight, you lose items as well is so punishing.

  3. I used to have this as a kid I fucking loved it because n64 never got street fighter

  4. When Tekken and Street Fighter married and have child xD

  5. My favorite N64 fighting games
    Super Smash Bros
    Killer Instinct Gold
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy/Mortal Kombat 4
    Mace The Dark Age
    Flying Dragon
Clay Fighters 63 1/3 (just for shits and jiggles)
    Fighter Destiny
Tom and Jerry Fist of Fury

  6. Epic game.. Ordered it 2 months ago!🎃🎃🎃

  7. This was one of my favorite games as a kid lol

  8. I LOVED this game. The ice guy and the robot were my go to.
Edit: Didn't know about memory cards at the time so i would start over EVERY single time. Never stopped me and my brother from getting it 5 times in a row at blockbuster though.

  9. Tbh smash and KI weren’t my favorite fighters on the 64

  10. ALSO speed isn’t the end all be all in fighting games and I don’t understand why people keep knocking fighters for their slowness

  11. That and Fighter's Destiny 1/2 were my go to fighting games on the N64. Spent too much time on the SD mode 😛

  12. I loved this game then and I still love it to this day and I did do a whole playthrough of this in SD mode with Wiler the soldier based character and got all of the important items for all the characters and it was tons of fun to do it I just wonder if there are other games exactly like this one because I'm also a huge fan of RPG games and that element kept me playing this for hours on end but I will agree the SD mode alone would've been a phenomenal mode and strong selling point by itself as the virtual mode really feels meaningless and unnecessary and ironically would've probably cost the studio less money in the end to develop but hey what can you do but still one of the best n64 titles I ever played

  13. Does anyone know how to use the Mr battles to enable auto battle?

  14. I have to disagree on the music point this games music was fire

  15. When I was a kid, I would refer to Gengai as Master Roshi, Robonohana as "Robo-Rikishi", Suzaku as Vegeta, Powers as The Ultimate Warrior & Ryuhi as Goku.

    Great times…

  16. I think this game really unbalance. I keep making jump and kick to win…

  17. I didn’t even know the name of this gem, had to google fighting games for n64…

I used to rent this game from Blockbuster over and over and fell in love, something about the designs and gameplay was so appealing to me
But all these years later I totally forgot the name of the game, really cool to finally find it again

  18. Played this so much with my best friend – the RPG elements were great

  19. That boss was harder than beating every dark souls without getting hit

  20. Not gonna lie, probably my favorite traditional fighter (I don't count smash as a fighter, but it tends to be my favorite).

I lived the dual mechanics in FD. I spent SO much time playing the chibi mode and leveling up my character, loved collecting new equipment etc. So underrated.

  21. My favorite fighting game ever, definitely top n64 game along with geomons great adventure and jet force gemini

  22. I have this app on my phone called Retro Land Pro and it has Nintendo 64 and other consoles on the app because it's an Emulator and I love playing Flying Dragon and Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 64 the other consoles I mentioned are Gameboy, Gameboy Advance and Gameboy Color and NES and SNES and Sega Genesis and Sega Master System and those are free because there are other ones that are not for free like these are the ones that are not free, GameCube, PlayStation, PSP, Nintendo DS and Wii those are the Emulators that are also on my app but they're not free

  23. They should remake this game for the Nintendo Switch

  24. Playing games on Emulators is fun but the experience on real consoles is better

  25. Thank you just bought best investment ever!!

  26. OMG I definitely rented this from Blockbuster and played the hell out of it, but I legit forgot all about it until this video! I remember all the item leveling was what kept me playing despite a lack of interest in fighting games. It was just such an unusual and unexpected experience and I’m really glad to be reminded of it

  27. I remember playing Suzaku a lot in the SD mode. Spent a lot of hours on that mode but I didn't really care about the Virtua Fighter/Tekken mode. Played through it once and was like…okay then, neat. Then forgot about it.

  28. I remember getting screwed over every time because I never had a save pak! Also remember that I played this like 7-8 years later and I gotten so damn terrible with that. It’s like growing up messed up my gameplay 😆😆😆

  29. Good lord I forgot this even existed. I do remember Fighter's Destiny though

  30. fighter's destiny is probably the best traditional 1on1 fighting game on the system. the one fighting game i spent hours in the practice mode. no other fighting game has had that power over me lol

  31. I had the FD: Elder Scrols when I had a NES when I was about 4yo. I am not the type to go fast for new consoles so when I got N64 it was midway to NGC and game choices where more of "what you find" so I only had an idea of this game from a magazinee but I nevver get to see it in a store

  32. They should’ve made an anime out of this game.

  33. It always amazed me the most powerful systems fighting games had the worst graphics

  34. That is freakin Ultimate Warrior with old Sting's facepoint lol. Looks like a pretty cool game

  35. This game gave me my obsession with 100%ing a game. Still never collected everything, but by God I tried. Spent hundreds of hours trying to do so.

  36. for my money, still the best hybrid fighting/ rpg game

  37. Generic music? Strongly disagree, after the RPG elements, the music is easily one of the best points of the game, specially on the SD mode. I remember liking it so much that I was stoked when I unlocked the item that lets you access the sound test, because it allowed me to record the game's music to my cassette recorder so that I could listen to it on the go, it was that good.

None of it really comes through on the video since it seems you couldn't decide between using the footage's BGM or overlay your own, so it came out as a scrambled mess, but I'm guessing people have already pointed that out and it's an old video anyways.

  38. Is it a sequence from Golden Fighter – Snes ??

  39. A friend traded me this game, i had no idea what it was. I didn't like fighting games at the time, but i got obsessed with the level up system!

  40. a friend of mine let me borrow it…and I dont think I ever gave it back

  41. Best fighting game I've played next to Smash Bros. I suppose soul calibur is good too. However… a lot of fighting games that everyone praises… just lacks so many features. I like the RPG elements and equipment, it was a nice touch! The adult mode was pretty useless to me though :3
